We are finally out of Snowpocalypse 2010, hopefully. Things seem to be looking up in both T.D.'s video business and my lending business. Dare I say it's starting to turn around?
The Spring TV shows are starting back up. Our favorites are Flash Forward, Lost, Big Love (we are getting HBO back next week), The Pacific, The Office, Desperate Housewives, and our new favorite - Undercover Boss.
Here's something that is also driving me nuts - our dog Sophie. Since it's warming up (mid 30s) she thinks we are back to taking a walk everyday. Well, that is not the case because I have to work when she wants to walk. I don't really have time to walk her until around lunch time. So she is scratching up the walls, literally, in the mornings. She has plenty of toys inside but she is really sick of being inside all day. Scooter on the other hand is happy just sitting next to me on the couch. But he stinks and he needs a bath. When we went to the groomer last month we had to leave his hair long because he gets too cold. Unfortunately, that also means he gets dirty easier.
Did I mention we are going on a road trip for Spring Break? We are SO READY! I'm ready to sit on the beach and see some GREEN for a change! T-minus 5 weeks and counting. That gives me 5 weeks to lose about 7-8 more pounds. I find it's easier to make small goals than one big goal of 20 pounds.
In other news - I have finally connected with my Grandma's sister Dorene. She was adopted by my Grandma's Aunt and Uncle and moved to Florida at a very young age. My Grandma was 17 when Dorene was born and their mother passed away not too long after. She has a daughter and two grandchildren. She actually lives in Sarasota, about 2 hours from my Uncle Doug! I hope that I can make it down there to meet her in person, for now we will do Facebook and email.
Other Other news - My friend Janine is due with her little boy Taylor Nelson Burnside on next Friday! WOO! And my friend Megan is due with her little yet to be known Parker in September. I also pray for my other friends that waiting to be blessed with a little bundle.
And if you are going to ask - no we aren't in a hurry.

The Great Snowpocalyse 2010
Let me warn you that I'm extremely bored.
For those of you that are not familiar with snow, it is incredibly annoying. Sure it's pretty and fun to play in ... but after a couple of days you just want it to melt. Here in Urbana we got over a foot and a half of snow in 24 hours. Of course it had to be over the weekend instead of during the week.
So, Thursday night I went to the YMCA and heard it was going to snow quite a bit by Friday morning. Friday morning came, no snow. I was at a Chamber First Friday around 9am and the snow lightly started to fall. I went to lunch at noon and we already had over an inch. I went to Walmart at 2pm and we had 4 inches.

By the time I went back to Walmart to get some cold medicine around 7pm, the parking lots were already mounded with snow. (pictured above at left) We had hot dogs and fries for dinner. Good thing we just went to Walmart Wednesday night.
I went home and settled in for the night thinking I would be able to go to my friend Janine's baby shower in Columbus on Saturday. Saturday comes and I get up early to look at the road conditions. Bad news, Route 68 North and South of Urbana are both closed due to plows being stuck. Great, and we are on a Level 3 Snow Emergency meaning no one can drive unless it's an emergency.
This is what I woke up to Saturday morning.
Total of about 14 inches of snow in less than 24 hours. The plowing you see is not from the city. The guy across the street had his son come and just plow in front of his house. Genius. The city finally got to our street about 5pm on Saturday evening. We thought we were downgraded to Level 2 (drive if necessary) so we tried to order a pizza. No one was open, we were still on a Level 3. Bummer. So we fixed pizza pasta and cheese garlic bread and watched Gone Baby Gone from Netflix.
A fun part of the night was some friends of mine from Logan County got on Stickam live video chat and we talked about random things and happenings "up North." You can tell we all had extreme cabin fever.
Now it's Sunday. Today we are fixing pork chops, garlic red potatoes and cookie bar brownies. I'm so ready to get outside, not really to play in the snow. Just to not be in the house.
This is the latest look outside. (below)
Lovely huh? NO. Annoying. This snow is welcome to melt at any time and I urge spring to hurry. Global warming my @$$. At least we have our Spring Break road trip to look forward to at the end of March. More on that at a later date.
For now, I'll keep hanging out inside and crocheting my scarf. I decided to learn how to crochet while I was at Walmart on Friday night and knew I would be snowed in all weekend. I'd say it's going pretty well for just learning.
For those of you in warm climates, enjoy the rest of your fun weekend. It just occurred to me the Super Bowl is tonight so... Go Colts!
