Lost innocence

So Lindsey insisted on starting this blog. As a teacher, I am hesitant to allow any "personal" information to be posted on the Internet. But, since I "lost" on June 20th, 2009, my personal opinions/feelings on most matters are overruled. So, if an Evans blog must exist and I am to asked to contribute from time to time, I should go ahead and blog about what matters most to me. In this case, the obvious topic is the impending final season of "Lost".

"Lost" is the greatest show in the history of television. And this simple yet undeniable fact is "lost" upon my wife. Yes, there are other amazing shows that we both enjoy such as "Mad Men", but even a cool guy like Don Draper cannot measure up to the brilliance of John Locke or Benjamin Linus. So you can only imagine my excitement for Tuesday's premiere, which unfortunately I will have to watch later Tuesday night on DVR since we have a big game against Tipp the same night (unfortunately our athletic director did not share my sentiment that the game should obviously be played a half hour earlier so everyone can get home to watch it in real time).

Like I said, Lindsey does not share my enthusiasm. She does not understand how incredibly smart the show is and how J.J. Abrams and the writers love putting little "Easter Eggs" into each episode that are fun for fans to try to figure out their significance. Every now and again I also like to read up on all things Lost, such as taking 45 minutes reading up on the potential clues in the cast's Last Supper picture. And I get grief for this. Now, it's okay for her to spend hours upon hours upon hours upon hours on Facebook looking at pictures of people she met one time five years ago or engaging in spirited debate about the latest story on Drudge. But me doing any "Lost" surfing makes me an obsessed nerd. Whatever.

Her pittance? She has to watch the final two episodes of last season today so she can try to keep up this coming season.

Good times...

Well we have finally gotten a lot of the basement finished so that we can break in the bar! I've been looking forward to it since we first saw the pictures of the basement.

When we were first looking at houses - T.D. said "We can't buy a house just because there is a bar in the basement." The funny part is we bought this house anyway!

I've always wanted to have a nice room to entertain and we are slowly getting there in the basement. We still have a lot of things to put up.

Dartboard, T.D.'s 20-0 HS banner, OSU and UNC stuff, frame keepsake magazines, and a ton more. Eventually we would like to get more furniture instead of my Grandma's old basement furniture. Pictures to follow...

In other news - Work is going really well! I'm starting to get the hang of the mortgage industry and I'm getting more and more business! Hopefully this business will turn into more in the form of referrals.

This is a short entry, but I'll have more next week!

Wow! It's 2010?

So it's 2010?
When did this happen? I feel like last week I was deciding what college to go to, and now I'm married!

T.D. and I were married last June 20, after dating for 3 years. You always have a list of qualities you want in a man, and sometimes you are lucky enough to get *almost* all of them! LOL! But he is the man I have been looking for!

We purchased a house in Urbana last July and added a new dog - Sophie, a 15 lb Poodle mix, to our home in August. We still have Scooter who is a 7 year old, 5 lb Maltese.

T.D. is the JV boys basketball coach at Urbana High School here in town. I recently started working from home as a Loan Officer for Western Ohio Mortgage. I LOVE my new job! It gives me time to work on the house, and work out at the YMCA in town.

We are working on our home by remodeling and updating when we can. So far we have only painted the dining room. But we will be working on more after tax time!

I also recently began playing Foursquare! It's exciting!

Well this is just a little update from The Events of the Evans'!
